How Do You Find New Music?

“Radioactive”, by Imagine Dragons

The NBA finals were fun to watch. I rooted for that team like I was from Texas! Oh well…I guess I should be happy. I discovered a nifty song from yet another TV commercial.

I don’t really like listening to “new music”.

I’m set with many old favorites that I grew up listening to. Anything new, is usually overheard on the TV, or in a movie. When it grabs my ear, I’ll go look it up online and listen to that one song. Like 20 times in one sitting.

How do you find new music? Anyone still listen to the radio?

Oh my goodness, I do the same thing. I almost loathe new music. But when I do find something, I’ll youtube it to death. lol

I like this song too. I heard it on an advert though on youtube. I too favour the oldies against ‘new’ aka pop music. Yes I may listen to them for a while but, I’ll always return to an old fav or something with more ‘substance’.

The radio? What’s that again? Only joking its been a long time since I listened to the radio for music. In the age of the internet listening to the radio, for music - for me - is limiting. I do tune in occasionally but, its not for music (though I was an avid XFM listening).

Yep I get that as well, I play out all the new songs until I’m almost sick of them. I think great music withstands the test of time but meh there are always new artists making great tunes, some with substance and some not so much :)

Looks like you’ve recovered from the dentist, I hope all is well :)!

Strangely enough, I’ve had enough of a musical influence on my teenaged boys to influence their music tastes! In fact, I’d be inclined to say that my selection process is heavily dependent on what I hear thumping from beyond their cracked bedroom doors! Amazing…

Nice! Reminds me of a gang of songs that were “before my time” that I only know because of my Dad. Music that can cross generations like that and be received well is pretty cool.

I usually find new music through Pandora. It’s a good way to find artists that you didn’t know who have a similar sound to artists you like.

My DH uses Pandora often. I tried once, and kinda got frustrated. LOL When I heard new & similar artists/songs, I immediately wanted to hear the artist/songs I already knew and liked.
