Indoor BBQ Recipe Ideas

Don’t let the possibility of rain ruin your holiday.

Great BBQ can be had indoors, without a grill!

Try these succulent oven ribs. They have a very flavorful rub and taste just as good without any BBQ sauce.

Craving a tasty “pulled” sandwich? Try these BBQ pulled pork and chicken recipes!

In Chicago, and don’t feel like cooking? Stop by Smoque! But, be sure to call first to make sure they’re open.

Restaurant Recommendation: IL Ritrovo.

I love this place!

Il Ritrovo

We’ve dined at IL Ritrovo on both visits to Kohler, WI. They have wonderful salads, great soft/chewy/crusty bread (soups too, but we have yet to try a bowl). We never skip the pizza. They have great, neapolitan-style pizza! And the tiramisu was just perfect!

We’ll be back.

Georgia Restaurant Recommendation: Nuevo Laredo Cantina.

Restaurant Recommendation: The Cheesecake Factory.

My sister kept raving about their mac & cheese.

The Cheesecake Factory
875 North Michigan Avenue
Chicago, IL 60611

She is the macaroni & cheese connoisseur & cook of the family. The one who gets begged to make a pan, or two, at get-togethers & holiday dinners. I had to try her recommendation. Had to.

I thought I did on a previous trip to the cheesecake factory, in GA. But, it turned out that I’d ordered the wrong mac.
The fried mac & cheese, while good, was not the mac my sis was referring to.

So as not to get mixed up again, we went to the downtown Chicago location.

Together.

Restaurant Recommendation: Smoque.

We waited in line for almost an hour. In 90 degree temps.

I just about died, but the wait was well worth it!

Husband & I went on a late Sunday afternoon. We were surprised at how busy the place was. It was past lunch time, but a bit early for dinner.

Or so, we thought.

The line was out the door when we walked up & quickly grew twice (maybe even thrice) as long, when we’d finally made it up to the counter to place our order.

We knew Smoque was popular, but not that popular!

Maybe it’s the summer-time desire for BBQ, or people had the same idea we had (brought to us very recently by the Chicago restaurant review program, Check Please).
