Turkey Bacon?

Turkey Bacon Illustration

Husband insists that there is no such thing as a “turkey burger”. He also says that “turkey bacon” is a fabrication.

What do you think?
Does turkey bacon pale in comparison to pork?

Merely Ducky Duck!

So. Husband sketched me. As a duck! Well–he says, I was his muse for this.

I keep Ducky Duck on my desktop computer, as wallpaper. It’s daily inspiration to be something super! Plus, it’s just funny to look at.

If you’d like to see more of my husband’s work, check out his site here. Garrett’s also a professional Graphic Designer. But, he’s an even more awesome Illustrator.

Meet Mr. Migsley.

Mini Snowman

We built our first snowman together!

His name is Mr. Migsley (though, Husband likes to call him Archie). He’s the first snowman that I’ve ever made.

When I packed in that last rock to complete his smile, I busted up laughing. Because, he looked absolutely nothing like I expected him to.

Mr. Migsley is still cute though.

Making a snowman is hard. As a matter of fact, just making a (round) snow ball isn’t as simple as it seems! I was shocked. Husband laughed at me as my gathered snow seemed to dissipate in the wind as I patted, rotated, twisted and rolled it between my hands. I did end up making one decent snowball. It was shaped more like a cylinder but, I was satisfied. By the time I gathered the rocks to form his face, my fingers started to freeze. And, it took awhile to get those rocks to stick.

Still. It was a lot fun. Pretty impromptu too. Building a snowman had been on my list but, I hadn’t planned it for Superbowl Sunday. Thanks Mr. Marie!

We almost used a carrot for his nose. But. With Mr. Migsley being a foot tall (maybe), we couldn’t have him enticing any roaming raccoons. Opossums. Or, that creep of a peeping squirrel, for that matter.

We’re looking forward to getting more snow this Winter. Archie is looking for a Mrs. Migsley!

Have you ever made a snowman?

If so, check out Fufu & Oreos!

The woman behind it reached out to do some advertising, and I’m excited about having her here. Now, that’s all I’m going to say. Because I want you to feel as inspired as I did upon visiting Obehi’s website. If you haven’t already, click on her gorgeous-looking ad in the sidebar. I very much enjoyed designing it.

Before During MerelyMarie, I worked in publishing. Designing ads, mostly. I liked the work. Now, I’m thrilled to announce that as a new addition to my business!

Feeling foggy-headed. :(

But, I just have to say thanks to everyone who has reached out to me for graphic design work, this past week. I truly appreciate your interest!
