One day I was making this for dinner and, I didn’t have any seasoned salt.
Who feels like going to the grocery store after just coming from a grocery store? I sure didn’t. So, I took to Google and guess what I found? A friggin’ recipe for seasoned salt! Lol
What isn’t online these days?
Here’s the recipe: (adapted from food.com by Lennie).
Homemade Seasoned Salt
2 tablespoons salt
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
1/4 teaspoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
• Combine the spices and use in your favorite recipes.
The first time I made this, I didn’t have any turmeric on-hand, so I used extra paprika and it worked just fine.
Compared to the store-brand, I like this better taste-wise. Plus, you can control the salt and sugar levels.
I also didn’t have anything to put my new spice mix in so, I used an empty cornstarch container and wrote the ingredients on it for future use.
Now it’s a seasoned salt container! Lol
I’ve always called it “seasoning salt” or “season salt”, but just learned it’s “seasoned salt”. Makes sense, since the salt is seasoned with other spices. But, I’ve also seen it sold as “season all salt”, or was it “all season”? Alright. I’m done babbling.
