If you’re following MM on Instagram, then you probably already know about my current food addiction.
In case you’re not on Instagram – or haven’t yet heard the word – Talenti is an awesome brand of gelato, sold at the grocery store.
I’ve purchased several flavors over the last month or so from Target and, they were all good!
Real quick. My top 5 Talenti gelato flavors…
- Sea Salt Caramel
- Banana Chocolate Swirl
- Southern Butter Pecan
- Caramel Cookie Crunch
- Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip
If you tried Talenti, what are your top favorites?
I like how few and readable the ingredients are and, I love the little pint containers! Since eating most of this gelato, I’ve come to collect a gang of them.
Instead of throwing the empty containers away, I’m reusing them in my kitchen as follows:
To store fruit & vegetables after slicing them up.
I like that I can see inside the Talenti containers at first glance of opening the fridge. Hard to do when all of my other food containers are of the opaque/thick plastic variety. Plus, they are easy to grab-&-go during the week. If I need a few slices of cucumber to quickly make a sandwich or a portion of refreshing watermelon after a workout, it’s there. Ready.
To store Crisco after frying donuts.
As soon as the shortening cooled and solidified, I packed it into an empty Talenti container for another gluten-free donut recipe testing day. That solved the inevitable question of, “What do I do with this grease?” after deep-frying food in the kitchen.
To keep my farmers market basil fresh.
With an empty Talenti container, a little bit of cool water, and a perforated food storage bag, my basil has (so far) lasted 4 days on the kitchen table! If you try this, you have to change the water daily, place the bag over the basil and keep it out of direct sunlight.
That’s all I got for this post! I hope you’ve found this helpful.
