I’ve been getting compliments on how “soft” my skin feels.
Growing up with terrible eczema, that is something I’d never thought I’d hear. My hands especially were rough, with big, thick patches of eczema that resembled alligator skin.
I grew out of it, thank goodness. But. Not without scars. ”Childhood eczema”, they called it. What torture.
Today, for the most part, my skin is just prone to dryness. To keep it soft & supple, I try my best to moisturize regularly. Especially after being in water.

I picked up CeraVe’s P.M. facial moisturizing lotion on a whim, from Target. About four months ago. I really believe it changed my skin texture for the better. I wish I’d taken before & after photos. My face looks & feels much smoother than it did last spring/summer. I also get less acne bumps, although, this probably has something to do with the cooler weather change, and some healthier eating habits. More on that later but, the lotion is great. Very light. Absorbs & moisturizes like a dream! I use it nightly and sometimes in the morning. I absolutely love this stuff, and pray that face continues to love it too.
To cleanse my face, I’m still using Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Foam Wash. Twice a day. It’s good (and most likely also contributed to me having less acne). But. I’m curious to try CeraVe’s foaming cleanser, and AM facial moisturizing lotion (I prefer to stick with one brand). I can never find them at Target though.

The first time I used CeraVe’s regular moisturizing lotion, I could feel it “seeping” into my skin. And, my skin was thirsty like a dry sponge. It drank it up! I love how the lotion didn’t leave my skin, or my hands feeling greasy. Just well moisturized.
After that discovery, I picked up a jar of the moisturizing cream, and the hydrating cleanser. I’ve been using them, and the lotion for about three months now.

The moisturizing cream is (of course) thicker/heavier so, I like to use it at night. It makes my skin feel more moisturized, and so soft.
Now that it’s much colder, I think my feet is a great place to “test” how moisturizing the cream really is. Does anyone else’s heels crack & peel in the winter time? I’m scratching up all my good socks. Geeze! I’m good at moisturizing all but, my poor little hooves. I may try the moisturizing cream there for the next few months, and see if there is any improvement. First, I think a good foot spa is an immediate order!

The hydrating cleanser especially has this “humectant” type of feel when applying it. Like moisture is being drawn out of the air, into the skin, and making it feel all “plump & juicy”. If that makes any sense. The cleanser makes no suds whatsoever. In fact, the consistency is very much like lotion. I’m not sure how “cleansing” it actually is, but it definitely make my skin feel softer after use.
What’s going on with your skin? Have you tried CeraVe?
P.S.
If you want to try CeraVe, be sure to check their site for coupon offers! I do. Often.

I had eczema in my teens. No fun at all but I grew out of it, thankfully. Seems like you a solid regimen. Good for you.
Hi Ljeoma!
CeraVe’s Hydrating Cleanser works great but does not control oily skin.
For those who suffer from oily skin, Mary Kay’s TimeWise 3-In-1 Cleanser Normal to Dry is EXCELLENT!! Not only does it lessen your chances of looking as if you have applied Vaseline to your face, it also minimizes dark blemishes/scars. Coming from a woman who suffers from oily skin and some blemishes, it is a MUST try!
All LOVE,
Joi Iman
Yes. You’re right about it not working for oily skin. The bottle says dry to normal.
Will keep Mary Kay in mind, should the DermaControl cleanser stop working for me. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve never seen that brand before. I need something, my hands have been much dryer than normal this winter.
It’s most likely on the bottom shelf. LOL It is at my Target.
I’ve heard of this brand before and heard it was good. After reading this review I need to try it. Thanks!
Cool Tianaa! I hope it works for you.
