26.2 miles!
I’m so happy for the both of them! Husband & his brother both finished the marathon, and took home medals. The event ran out of medals to give, but were suppose to be mailing them out when more came in.
As a spectator, the marathon is so inspiring to watch! There are moments when you’re cheering from the sidelines, a big group of runners go by, and you just want to jump in & join ‘em. Especially, when they’re wearing tutus!
But.
Because you didn’t prepare & adequately train (for months in advance), you merely contain your motivation. Perhaps, until next year.
I saw the faces of many as they approached the finished line.
There was relief. Grimace. Joy. Pride.
While some, sadly, didn’t cross the line to finish (I saw a man whose legs just locked up. Medical assistance came immediately & put him on a stretcher.), those who did probably did feel like super heroes.
Or, real life heroes.
Either way…count me super inspired!!!
Congratulations to all the runners! Great job!!!
And, a huge, huge Thank You to you, if you’ve donated to Garrett’s fundraising campaign for LLS. With your help, he exceeded his minimum. We thank you for that, and for all your well wishes!

Your brother-in-law is a good friend of mine from work. He introduced me to your blog because he shared the picture since we has talked for months about his training in preparation for the marathon.
