Even though there were plenty moments this summer when I felt like it…I didn’t give up on my (facial) skin.
I’ve tried more products than I’d like to, and wasted enough moolah in the process.
Having tried Aveeno, Neutrogena, and Cetaphil this year, I thought I’d share a few quick thoughts on them.
For reference, my skin is:
• And super sensitive (which always makes me nervous to try anything new)
In my last skincare post (which was about 4 months ago), my skin was behaving rather well with Aveeno’s Clear Complexion line. Since then, I think my face got used to the products, as it neither improved to a truly “clear complexion”, or worsened with horrible break outs. It was quite stable (minor acne), but I wanted better.
• Nice lather
• Pleasant scent
• My face always felt clean after use.
• Not too drying.Cream Cleanser
• Zero lather. The formula felt more like a mask, than a cleanser.
• While doing a nice job exfoliating, it didn’t really leave my face feeling clean, just more moisturized.
• The microbeads were a nice size. Not too big & not too micro.
I’ve been using Cetaphil products for years. Specifically their Daily Facial Cleanser, Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion, and Moisturizing Cream. All are great!
While wandering Target, I found Cetaphil’s new Dermacontrol line. It’s formulated for oily & acne-prone skin. Thank you Cetaphil! I’ve been using the Oil Control Foam Wash, along with the Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30. So far, so good! I may review this line later, as I’ve only been using it for a month.
Firstly, I will say that I LOVE the lip balm in this line! But. I didn’t have the patience to continue use of the purifying products. Both the cleanser & the scrub were extremely drying. They also brought out more bumps. My face felt so tight & dry after use. 🙁 No thanks! Maybe, with continued use, all the yuck lurking below the surface will come to show itself, before eventually clearing & going away. I couldn’t wait for it though.
I may do a regimen update, as I also started using CeraVe, with great results so far!
