Georgia Restaurant Recommendation: Nuevo Laredo Cantina.

My sister & brother-in-law took us here. The food was beyond amazing!!!

The place was busy, but we didn’t wait long. The hostess walked us through the restaurant, down some stairs, and into a basement.

No, really!

It felt like we were in somebody’s basement. But, I didn’t care. I was beyond excited.

Tacos!!!
If you’ve been reading awhile, you may know about my love for them & mexican food.

Plus, I knew we were in for a treat, because my sis suggested the place (she knows good food)! And also because, the basement was loud. People were seated at almost every table, happily chatting away & eating.

Chips & salsa. I could cry.

The tortillas were fried fresh. Brought to our table warm, with glints of gleaming oil. Mmm!
And the salsa…nice & tomato-y, with hints of fresh cilantro. Then comes the kick of peppers! But not too spicy. Very subtle.

I ordered the steak tacos.

The steak was tender, well-cooked, and very flavorful. The salsa that came with it, complemented the meat & extended the flavor. Simple cilantro & onion mix topping. The flour tortilla was unexpectedly good! Very soft, fresh, with a bit of chewiness. You know how some flour shells taste like straight flour? Not these! I usually order soft shell corn tortillas, but I must’ve forgot.

I’m glad I forgot. I think this was the best steak taco I’ve ever eaten!

The refried frijoles were decent. Unfortunately, I couldn’t touch the rice. Peas.

Husband had the chicken tamales. My brother-in-law ordered the lobster tacos. And my sister-in-law had, I think it was either the chicken or steak burrito. Everyone really enjoyed their food.

If you live in the Atlanta area, you must stop by this restaurant.
