Thrift Store Finds: Shorts & Shirts.

Shorts & thin, long-sleeved shirts…last year, I couldn’t wait to make this combo my “staple look” for summer. It’s so comfortable…and I just love the chic simplicity of it!

My closet was very short (pun intended )on both pieces, so I went shopping.

It’s been awhile since I’ve gone to the thrift store. I was amazed to find that it had been upgraded! The aisles were clean…the racks organized by specific items & color-coordinated…signs posted at the beginning of every aisle…& a dressing room!!! It was a very nice surprise! While shopping I overheard a group of women saying that the “store was better when it was dirty”. I understood what they meant. The new organization, while thoughtful, took away something from the “hunt”.

This trip, I made a conscious effort to be more selective, and resist the urge buy everything that “looked good“.

Here’s what I found:

These banana shorts were calling me!!! They are very cute on, and the pop of color brightens up my very neutral closet.

I LOVE this shirt!!! Crisp, cotton, & a nice navy plaid. I see this going well with shorts, jeans, skirts…I’m wearing this thing until it dies!

Classic!!! I rarely look for white clothing at the thrift store, but this shirt was in great condition, and I didn’t have any white button-downs in my closet.

Watch out there now…Booty & Leg-o-licious! It’s so funny!!! I don’t like having my bum looked upon, but (…and, the puns keep rolling )…I LOVE looking at my legs; and I’ve been wanting some nice, denim shorts for awhile.

These, I think, were at one time pants, because the legs showed the unraveled, “stringy-end evidence” of being cut-off, when I picked them up. After washing, I just snipped the hanging strings & rolled the legs thighs up. These shorts fit so nicely, that I almost wished they were full length jeans…definitely only wearing these with long-sleeves though. #Semi-Dangerous

This shirt is a heavy-weight cotton, and fits like a glove! I look forward to wearing it come Fall & Winter.

I’m very happy with these finds, as I’ve already washed & worn most of them a couple times already.
