The shift dress is a classic, and fantastic for office wear.
I picked this one up years ago, from Gap. The fabric is linen, so it’s sure to wrinkle…but, I dare not iron it with starch. Ha! I tried that once, many years ago, and the result was very stiff…like wearing paper…& at the end of the day, the wrinkles looked far worse!!! I’ve noticed when I steam iron & belt this dress around my waist (because it’s sorta shapeless, without one), pulling a bit of the material over the belt, the wrinkles are far less showing & the overall shape looks more tailored. What I love about linen, is that it is so cool & comfortable to wear on those hot, humid summer days.
I LOVE rich, cognac-colored leathers! Shoes, belts & bags of this sort are also timeless, depending on the style.
An added blazer would make this look a bit less casual, and the jacket would especially come in handy if your office tends to feel more like a “walk-in freezer”.
To keep it casual, a long cotton cardigan would look great.
I will be posting more photos to the MM Facebook page, so please head on over there & click “LIKE”, if you’re on FB & care to see me posing. Ha!
