If you’re a “slow eater” & dread having deliciously hot food go cold on your plate (so you eat just a bit faster), try popping your plate into a warm oven for a few minutes before plating.
A warmer plate keeps “hot foods” hot a bit longer than a room-temperature or cooler one would. Just make sure the plates are oven-safe, and use oven mitts when moving them from the oven to the table. You also want to be cautious while eating…small price to pay for being able to slow down & savor the flavors.
Salad & ice cream bowls can be chilled in the refrigerator or freezer, before filling them up with your favorites. This helps prevent soggy/warm salads & “melty” pools of ice cream.
Try it when you’re cooking for yourself, family (adults only…don’t want to burn the kiddies), or even better…when hosting a dinner party, and you want to give your guests that “fancy restaurant, but better because it’s homemade” experience!
