We recently finished clearing some serious clutter. YES!!! Our sofa, kitchen table (we had 2!), and small coffee table are all gone! We gave them away to family.
Now that we can breathe a lot easier, I’m making tiny…tiny efforts to “beautify” our apartment, especially the living room/office space. It’s funny, initially Husband & I weren’t really seeing eye-to-eye on the subject. I’d been telling him the ideas I had in my head, & I imagine all he saw in his head was “$$$”. He didn’t want to spend a lot of moolah on new items that probably weren’t going to move with us when we buy a house, and I didn’t want to live in an “ugly space” just because it’s temporary; it’s “home” to us nonetheless.
So, I picked up some fabric (thrift store, $4.99) to reupholster/cover the love seat. I washed it & recently threw it on to see what it looked like. It really brightens up the room (unfortunately, it’s not wide enough to fully cover the sides of the sofa. 🙁 I left it on anyway…it’s nice to look at! That day, I also made some other small adjustments in the living room; just moving things around & it really made a difference. Husband wasn’t home, but when he saw with his eyes, a huge grin formed on his face, and I heard the words “You were right!”.
I’m still on the look out for something nice/unique to cover the love seat; and maybe use this stripe fabric to finally recover the pillows…we’ll see.
We also recently finished a D-I-Y project we’d been working on with my Dad, since around Thanksgiving last year…”Parson-esque” desks!!! I’m gradually getting closer to having a home work space that makes me feel inspired & anxious to get to work building my brand, and our company.
Color pencil me excited!
More later, with photos…
